The boys want to be him and the girls want to sleep with him. No, I’m not talking about Jacob from this summer’s Crazy, Stupid, Love. It’s Ryan Gosling, the actor playing him, who the girls want to wrap their legs around.
Gosling has been on the big screen for over ten years, with his most memorable roles being Alan in Remember the Titans (2000), Lars Lindstrom in Lars and the Real Girl (2007), Dean in Blue Valentine (2010), and of course, the hopelessly romantic Noah in The Notebook (2004).
But it’s not any of those roles that have the girls keeling over in titillation. The character that finally did it for Gosling was Jacob. With impeccable taste and smooth lines, Jacob was the quintessential ladies man. So what character is next for the actor who’s proven himself time and time again in both romance and drama?
We can next see Ryan in this October’s The Ides of March as a presidential candidate’s friend and staff member. The movie is also written by, directed by, and starring George Clooney. Here, Gosling’s character, Stephen, is ultimately led to deceit and betrayal. This is another dramatic role for Gosling and is likely to receive much acclaim.
Whether he’s kissing in the rain (The Notebook), in love with a doll (Lars), or playing the guitar in his goofy voice (Blue Valentine), it’s no doubt that we can definitely expect nothing less than more spotlight-stealing performances by Ryan Gosling, an actor who has proven himself to be well on his way to the role that will one day land him an Oscar.
